Spongebob Squarepants Show - The Most Watched Show On Television For Kids

Posted by Trevor Gartreese on Aug 30, 2010 in games

Reviewed as the most popular American animation series over the last ten years, SpongeBob SquarePants show has made a history in entertainment. The man who invented the cartoon characters and started producing the series through his own company, The United Plankton Pictures, was Stephen Hillenburn, a former marine biologist with a vivid imagination. You can watch the show on Nicktoons Network, and it has been often reviewed as one of the greatest television shows in history, on several occasions. The pilot episode of SpongeBob SquarePants show was broadcast on May 1, 1999, followed by other episodes that gained more popularity from 2000 onwards.

The episodes in SpongeBob SquarePants show lack continuity, which makes it perfect for anyone to watch it without having to refer back to previous contexts and events. Although many characters suffer apparently irreparable accidents, they always get back to normal. For instance, the Krusty Krab, the main restaurant in Bikini Bottom, the setting of the story, is destroyed on several occasions, and it seems like every time it is beyond repair.

Lots of these apparently horrific events occur because one of SpongeBob’s mishaps. Both adults and children will find these cartoons interesting: the episodes often contain subtleties that reflect the absurdity of life for instance, which will escape the understanding of young watchers.

One of the elements that differentiates SpongeBob SquarePants show from other similar productions of the Nickelodeon network is the participation of lots of independent musicians to the series soundtrack. Wilco, Twisted Sister, The Flaming Lips are just a few names here, but a presence like that of David Bowie will not pass unnoticed, and this was obvious in the Atlantis SquarePantis episode of 2007. This episode had the largest audience level in the entire history of the SpongeBob SquarePants show. Then, one further reflection of the series into the music world was at the initiative of Metallica consisting in the release of t-shirts featuring Patrick and SpongeBob playing live with the group members.

With the increased popularity of the show in the United States and in other parts of the world MTV started broadcasting it, this time targeting the teenage audience-group category. Some famous quotes from the series also entered common speech, as it is the case with the famous line from Mid-Life Crustacean: It’s gonna rock! The quote was taken over by rock radio stations and soon entered the language of many rock fans and adolescents. SpongeBob SquarePants show has definitely laid its imprint on American television, and it can surely make one laugh heartily on any episode.

Parking Games Are More Than Just Entertainment

Posted by Joshua Sicles on Jul 6, 2010 in games

Many who play parking games online feel that they are useful in improving a person’s parking skills. It is a worry free and easy way for practicing as the worry that you may dent your car if you drive into something is nonexistent while you are playing. Your self training will then be able to progress in a satisfactory manner without driving up your insurance cost.

The types of these activities that are available consists of games where you have to park an eighteen wheeler, a regular car, a race car, or even a boat. The rules for each are similar, yet they have their own individual twists. They begin with a parking task that is fairly simple but then gets progressively harder as you work you way through the levels.

In the games that use an eighteen wheeler as the player vehicle the requirement is to put it into its assigned spot without having hit anything along the way. If an obstacle is hit or knocked on its side then the overall score is reduced by a set number of points. The player must also be aware of the time as a limit is imposed on how long a player has to finish their task.

With a game involving an automobile the objective is to drive it through an almost full lot to the one empty space that is destined for the player’s vehicle. Unfortunately that is not the only thing a player has to worry about for there are also obstacles to avoid. Hitting one causes your performance rating/score to drop dramatically. Another option in the game that may be available if there is a need is reverse parking. Speed in parking is also critical as there is only a limited window in time to accomplish what is required.

Some of the games involving a virtual race car require skill and speed. The time limit for accomplishing the task of driving the car to a perfect stop in the spot designate for it is often just 60 seconds. So a very good understanding of the principles involved in the steering of the vehicle and a steady hand are a must for advancing through the levels of this game.

If a player chooses a game that involves the parking of boats he, or she, is required to maneuver the vehicle through the water and put it bow first into the dock that it is assigned to. For this task to be accomplished it requires that the player develop a skill in adjusting the rudder so that the correct course will be taken. Knowing when to hit the forward control also helps. The player should also keep in mind that if the boat is steered into a dock or other obstacle it sinks. Time is also a factor in that there is a limited amount allowed for the task to be completed.

So if you have a feeling that you should work to improve your parking skills then it is quite possible that playing a parking game may fulfill that need. Then again it may only be entertainment to be enjoyed. Regardless of either contingency these games are interesting and fun to play.

When you’re looking to have a good time while improving your ability to control your vehicle in a parking situation, practice with ParkingGames.net. Parking games teach you to park everything from an automobile to an 18-wheeler.

Mario Games

Posted by Andy Beckem on Apr 23, 2010 in games

There is no character more widely known in video game history than Nintendo’s flagship character Mario. While that statement could be argued, the fact remains that Mario games have outsold all other video game mascots or franchises in the world today.

Mario games have crossed decades, from the lovable red and blue plumber’s first show in Donkey Kong when he was known as “Jumpman”, to the hugely anticipated and critically acclaimed Super Mario Galaxy. Mario has had his own cereal, cartoon, movie, live-action show, and his likeness has been used to sell almost any type of product you could possibly think of. But it all started with Mario games.

Mario Bros. was released after Donkey Kong showed up in the arcades in 1981 to critical acclaim and a few years later an permanent niche was etched with the launching of the Nintendo Home Entertainment System. Most Nintendo Entertainment Systems were boxed with a game that would change the landscape of video gaming irrevocably. Of all Mario games, Super Mario Bros. released in North America in 1985, may be the most best known video game of all time.

Many people have logged countless hours striving to save the princess only to read the now famous text on their TV screens: “Thank you Mario! But our Princess is in another castle!” There is now a legion of gamers that celebrate the dwellers of the Mushroom Kingdom. From the frog and raccoon outfits of Super Mario Bros. 3 to the wildly addictive New Super Mario Bros.

Mario games have even crossed over to take on competing mascots from other companies such as the game Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, where at long last, everyone’s favorite plumber goes head to head with the feisty and spiky avatar Sonic the Hedgehog. Fans of both characters finally get to duke it out for the gold ribbon.

Mario games have embarked into the sporting realm with entries that include everything from soccer to kart racing. And with the inception of the highly popular Super Smash Bros. series, Mario can be seen fighting hand- to-hand with many of Sony and Nintendo’s most known characters.

Even today, the Mario franchise is still going strong. Mario is for certain to carry an even larger legacy into the future. It will come as no surprise if grandparents partake in a Mario game with their young grandchildren and reminisce about their first memories of that garishly dressed plumber and his exceptional worlds.

Wildwood Glen in Dizzywood

Posted by Alice Balderton on Jul 31, 2009 in games
by Alice Baldwin

Wildwood Glen is a mystical forest in the Dizzywood game with a rich history. Upon first entering Wildwood Glen visit the monument commemorating Wildwood Forest. Here you’ll learn the story of the evil Emperor Withering who chopped down the original forest. Loyal citizens of Dizzywood fought back by replanting the forest to make it the great environment it is today!

The plants in Wildwood Glen are a lively bunch willing to help you get coins and other rewards. The Leaf Sprite helps you gain the means to plant. Play a game of Word Race with the Leaf Sprite to win seeds. If you already have seeds or potted plants the Leaf Sprite will offer to trade you for a new bunch.

Collect an array of other plants in Wildwood Glen to receive coins. These plants include the flowers thistlepeach, and spindlebrush, mushrooms fittingly named plushrooms, and tree bark known as bristlesap. Purple balls littering the forest floor are bubbling mulch. Step over every one you see to collect enough to fill a bucket. Once you’ve filled a bucket you’ll get 3 coins. Bring each bucket of mulch you get to Katherine de Claw in the Garden Gazebo. This mulch helps her to make her famous Moxie Mulch, a great source of nutrients for plants growing in the garden. She’ll even give you a reward for all your help.

If you see a treehouse peeking out through the forest and want to explore, start the Grappling Hook mission. Once you’ve finished the mission and found the Grappling Hook you can use your tools to climb your way up to Spy the Bear’s treehouse.

A skull and crossbones marks the entrance to the Gnarl. Rat Wraith, one of Emperor Withering’s henchmen, calls this place home. As the signs suggest, only the bravest and well prepared players should enter. If you’ve yet to gain all your super powers you will be warned not to enter.

A Guide to the Club Penguin Band

Posted by Steve Archer on Jul 24, 2009 in games
by Steven Archer

The Club Penguin Band is a group of four penguins that appear very rarely in the Club Penguin game, usually in conjunction with special events and parties. If you meet them in game and click on them, you can get a special autographed background featuring the band for use on your player card.

There are currently four members in the Club Penguin Band. They are: G. Billy, Petey K, Stompin’ Bob and Franky. G. Billy is the dark blue penguin. Petey K is the green penguin. Stompin’ Bob is the red penguin and Franky is the yellow penguin. They always appear together as a group, usually playing music on stage. They have appeared several times in the game, beginning with the Winter Luau in 2006. They most recently appeared backstage at the Club Penguin Play Awards and are scheduled to appear at Music Jam 2009.

There was a special event during their appearance at the Wild West party in 2006. During that party, they misplaced their musical instruments and players undertook a scavenger hunt to find them. Every player who completed the scavenger hunt got a Club Penguin Band player background. The band appeared again at the Music Jam 2008, playing on stage at the Iceberg. During breaks, they would appear on many different servers in the Backstage area, where members had the chance to meet them and obtain the special autographed player card background. They appeared once more backstage at the Club Penguin Play Awards in 2009 and players had another opportunity to get the special background.

The band will appear again at Music Jam 2009 and they will be backstage in the members-only area during breaks. The band will move between servers, just like Rockhopper does during his visits to the Club Penguin island. You will need a little luck and a lot of patience to spot the band backstage, and here are a few tips to make your search easier. First, they will only appear on break backstage, so you need to be a paid member to meet them. If you’re not a paid member, you will not get to see them backstage and get the special player background card. Second, the band will move often and will only stay on each server a short time, so the best strategy is to pick a server and wait backstage for them to come to you. When they do appear on a server, the room can get full very quickly. If you don’t have the time or patience to wait for them to come to you, you can use a Band Tracker to find out which server they’re on at that moment. You may need to try a few times because they appear on popular servers, which get crowded fast.

Remember that the Club Penguin Band doesn’t visit very often, and when they do it’s only for a short while. Keep that in mind as you use the above tips and tricks to find them. If you do, it’s a really fun experience and the autographed player card background makes a great souvenir!

ClubPenguin Medieval Party

Posted by Stevie Archer on Jul 21, 2009 in games
by Samuel Ardon

Hey, who doesn’t like a party? Club Penguin players sure do with parties on the site scheduled nearly every month. Sometimes, especially during the summer, there are even two different parties and major events per month and all the servers get crowded with partying penguins. One of the most anticipated parties each year is the Club Penguin Medieval Party. It has a medieval theme, complete with knights, castles, princesses and more. Everything you’d expect is there and most of the different rooms in Club Penguin are completely decorated for the big event. The first Club Penguin Medieval Party was held in May, 2008 and then was repeated in 2009.

The first Medieval Party occurred between May 16, 2008 and May 25, 2008. It was one of the biggest parties in Club Penguin history. Most of the rooms in the game were decorated. As with most parties on Club Penguin, one of the most exciting things was the free item giveaway. In 2008, there were two items that penguins could get for free. The first free item was the Squire Tunic at the Dock. The second free item was a wizard hat at the Lighthouse. The wizard hat was first released in the 2006 Halloween Party. The 2008 Medieval Party was also the first party to include the exclusive room which is only available during special events. It was a Treehouse Fort and it was at the Forest.

Some Key Attractions at the 2008 Medival Party

Dragon A giant dragon appeared inside the mines where penguins usually play the Cart Surfer game. You could control the dragon using a special device called the switchbox 3000, which most penguins know is the same device used to control the scenery at all the Club Penguin plays.

The Magic Mirror Up on top of the ski hill mountain, penguins could use a magic mirror that worked kind of like the famous magic 8 ball where you could ask any question and it would give you an answer.

Special Costumes In the Club Penguin clothing catalog you could purchase medieval costumes like a dragon, knight and princess dress. There were also some special player card backgrounds made just for the Medieval Party.

TreeTop Fort This special room only appeared during the Medieval Party. It was a place to hang out and enjoy the party. One fun feature was a hole in the tree where different Puffles would appear and make funny faces.

The 2009 Medieval Party

The 2009 edition of the Club Penguin Medieval Party was from May 8, 2009 through May 17, 2009. It featured many of the same attractions as the original party and included a few more. Many rooms were decorated and free items were given out. There was also a special mini-quest where Club Penguin members could get a golden suit of armor.

Getting through Shark Tooth Island in Poptropica

Posted by Samuel Poppers on Jul 19, 2009 in games
by Samuel Poppers

Shark Tooth Island is a strange island in Poptropica that has a serious shark problem. In this island adventure you must rescue Professor Hammerhead.

You’ll arrive by blimp on the island. When you get the, go all the way to the right and follow the sign marked for the Ancient Ruins. Of course, if you want to you can stop in the Shark Museum or the Coconut Cafe before you got, but they’re not important for completing the adventure. Head through the next short transition room and then keep going to the right. You are now in the ancient ruins. Run all the way to the right. Keep an eye out for the giant dropping coconuts that fall from the tree as you head through the area. When you get to the far right side, you’ll see the Booga Bay sign. Go right again.

Keep going through the next short room and then you will be in Booga Bay. Speak with the guy at the Grass Skirts stand. He will give you a grass skirt. Put it on and then go back left to the ancient ruins. As soon as you arrive in the ruins, jump over the big stone in the middle and then push it to the right until it is next to the palm tree. Now jump up on the top of the block. Jump up again to catch the vine.

OK now keep climbing up the fine and going up the platforms. You’ll arrive at the very top standing next to a guy in a mask. He is the local medicine man. Talk to him and he will tell you that deep in the temple you’ll find a wall carving that shows you what you need ot bring to him. When you get all the ingredients, he will create a potion for you that you can use to take care of the big shark.

Now just jump out of the tree and keep heading down until you land safely on the ground. On the left you’ll see the dark and scary entrance to the temple. Go inside the mouth of the statue to enter. Go down the first set of platforms.

Soon, you’ll be standing on a platform and there will be a swinging platform to your left. Time your jump so that you land on it and then keep moving to the left. You’ll reach a wall and then will need to go all the way to the bottom. Watch out for the purple bats, who will knock you over. Once you get to the bottom, go left and then jump all the way up again. Soon you’ll see a big green control panel in the upper left corner. Jump up onto that platform and click on the panel.

You now need to press the correct teeth buttons to open the door to the left. The right ones to click are the third, fourth, sixth and seventh from the left. When you click those four, press the triangle inbetween the eyes and the eyes will light up if you’ve done it correctly. This will open the doorway and then you can go through. Keep going through the next paassageway and then you will be in another large chamber. Jump and go all the way to the bottom. Run to the left until you get to the bottom of a large shark statue. Jump up on the statue and go over it, dropping down on the left side. Then run all the way to the left until you see a pile of bones. Run on top of the large white bone to pick it up.

OK, now return to the shark statue and jump back onto the top. Next, jump up on the swinging platform and then jump left until you get to the top of a platform that overlooks a pit with spikes in the walls. Stand here and wait for the platform to slide next to you and then get on it. When it reaches the other side, jump off and then head to the left. Now you will go into the final chamber. This one is really easy. Just jump down to the bottom and go to the left. You will arrive at a large pedestal with a container at the top. Jump up to get it. This is the key ingredient for the potoion that the medicine man will make you. Now, jump onto the vine and climb up it to get out of the temple. Keep going up through the room with lots of platforms by jumping all the way up to the top.

You’ll appear out of a hole in the sand right at the beginning part of the island next to the guy selling shark fins. You can get one from him if you like, but you don’t need it to solve the mission. Now walk to the right a little and talk to the guy standing next to the booth outside the Coconut Cafe. He will give you some carbonated coconut milk, which is the 3rd and final ingredient you need to bring to the Medicine Man.

Next you need to go to the right and then return to the Ancient Ruins. Push the big stone again to get underneath the vine next to the palm tree. Go all the way back up to the tree to return to where the Medicine Man is standing. Speak to him. He will take all the ingredients from you and make you a calming potion to feed to the shark. Jump down from the tree and head to the right to Booga Bay.

After you arrive in Booga Bay, go to the right until you pass a fisherman and arrive at a cannon with a sign next to it that says, “Feed the Shark.” Click on the cannon and direct it up in the air and then click again to send the coconut with the potion in it into the bay. As soon as it lands in the water, the great Booga shark will appear and eat it. He’ll turn green and then fall asleep below the water. Click on the “Back” button in the upper-right corner of the game to return to the main screen. You can safely cross the water while the shark is sleeping. Cross the island and you will come to a small island. Go right at the end and you will then arrive next to Professor Hammerhead.

There’s an old guy here standing in front of a hut. It’s Professor Hammerhead and you have rescued him and the small boy! Talk to the professor. He will thank you and ask you to take him and the boy safely back to the mainland. Go left and they will follow you. Return all the way to the beach where the crying woman was. When you arrive she will thank you for finding her son. The professor will give you the island medallion and you are done with Shark Tooth Island!
